Google appears to be working on an “interests” system for Play Store app discovery.
Settings will let you control your interests by clearing previous selections.
We expect to see the Play Store’s recommendations begin appearing in your For You view

We can see Google presenting the “interests” chips in the Play Store, ranging from Communication to Productivity to Photography. The “Based on your interests” section appears after you make a selection, displaying some popular apps based on your interests, helping in app discovery.
